The Remote Sensing Resources project, produced by the
Remote Sensing & Geographic Information Systems Facility
at the
Center for Biodiversity Conservation, develops learning materials focussed on practical
aspects of accessing, visualizing, and processing remotely sensed data (typically satellite
imagery). Whirl-i-Gig developed a series of "Interactive Tools" illustrating basic
concepts like color mixing, scale, satellite sensor band sensitivity and near-Gaussian sensor
response. All of the interactives were designed to be viewed in a web browser on the Internet
or delivered on a CD-ROM or DVD for classroom use.
